ABOUT SARAH’S SPROUTS
Our goal is to provide local fresh produce, grown in the Peace Region for the Peace Region. Using natural and sustainable farming practices to create the highest quality, nutritious produce in a chemical free environment.
FARM FRESH VEGGIE BOXES
We offer a mixture of organically grown, garden fresh seasonal vegetables, fruit and optional farm fresh eggs. Our boxes are built once a week and are filled with freshly harvested veggies coming directly from our farm gardens and greenhouses. We offer 3 box sizes, $25 (1-2 people), $35 (3-4 people) or a $45 (4+people).
HOW IT WORKS
Our program runs over 20 weeks, where we offer a fresh box every week of the 20 week session from May to the end of October. Boxes can be purchased for the full 20 weeks upfront, or you can choose a month by month option. Boxes seasonally change as the vegetables ripen, ensuring a wide variety of fresh local produce. Pick up Mondays or Thursdays in Dawson Creek.
From Farm to Plate in 24 Hours: Our Hand-Picked Microgreens
We grow healthy, nutrient dense microgreens every 15-20 days in our vertical indoor farm. Our microgreens are grown in a controlled and sustained environment. We are able to provide fresh, local produce in our northern climate during dark winter months. It is during this time that fresh produce is traditionally hard to come by, and nutritional deficiencies are common.
Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a variety of health issues.
– From immune dysfunctions, increased depressions, all the way up to increased cancer risk… Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to it all! Our sunflower shoots and pea shoots are packed with vitamin D!
Not only are microgreens faster to grow than mature crops (while using less resources) they contain a higher density of vitamins and minerals. Take broccoli, for example. Broccoli microgreens have larger concentrations of magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, iron and calcium than the mature vegetable!
All our products are hand cut, packaged, and delivered within 24 hours of harvest to ensure optimal freshness. We offer broccoli, kale, mustard, arugula, radish, sunflower and pea shoots.
